Here’s an interesting video, How the Saab were manufactured at Uusikaupunki Valmet Automotive plant in Finland 1993. As you can see, even then, the whole production line was computerized and robotized, and on the production line is Saab 900 Convertible.
Saab-Valmet was established in 1968 as a joint venture of Finnish Valmet and Swedish Saab-Scania. The automotive plant was placed in Uusikaupunki, Finland. In 1992, Valmet became the sole owner, and the company was renamed Valmet Automotive in 1995. Video presenting the Uusikaupunki plant body shop from 1993.
