Changes engine (swap engine) in Opel is not new (Saab B206 Turbo engine in BMW M3),  but since that Opel and Saab share the same platforms, replacement engine is not a complicated process.

Usually, the Saab engines mounted in Opel Vectras, but sometimes in the smaller Opel Astras. Advantage is of course obvious, small Astra is much lighter than the Saab models thereby gaining performance.

In this case, the owner of the Ople Astra managed to slip into his car Saab’s B204 engine with mighty Holset HX35 Turbo – here is result:

Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
