From 1978 to 2003, Finnish company Valmet Automotive made over 444.000 Saab 900 cars.

For a country with such a small population (Finland) there’s obviously something very special in the Finnish air which them allowed to make such good cars and have great motorists like: Kimi Raikkonen, Mika Hakkinen, Ari Vatanen, Mika Salo, Keke Rosberg (Keijo Erik Rosbergand many others…

Once, the company Valmet at the same time, on the same production line, produced the Saab 900 and Opel Calibra. When Keke Rosberg was at the peak of his career in F1 (F1 Winner 1982), the Valmet Automotive used him to promote model Opel Calibra.

Over and above, Valmet company in his honor made a special Calibra model – Keke Rosberg Edition (DTM). Just in time for its works debut in the German Touring Car Masters (1993/94), Opel introduced the new 125 kW/170 hp, 2.5 V6 Calibra, together with 2.0-liter four-cylinder variants in Opel’s white-yellow DTM look.

Although Mr. Keke Rosberg was never officially Saab promoter, he made several promotional posters for the Valmet Automotive company, with which he is then intensively cooperated. As you can see, F1 champion photographed in front of the Saab 900 Turbo models.

In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
