Saab 9-5 converted into “tank” for a Charity trip to Benidorm

An Saab 9-5 Wagon has been transformed into “a tank” in which TEAM 106 “Tanking it to Benidorm” will make the 1,472-mile journey from North Wales (UK) to Benidorm city in Spain.

Denbigh fundraisers are planning epic trip in Saab, to Spain to raise cash for St Kentigerns Hospice, and project is called “Tanking it to Benidorm.  They are a team of 4 blokes taking part in the ‘Benidorm Or Bust’ Charity run. The official start in in Dover, however, Saab team are starting in North Wales, meeting up with the rest of the teams in Dover. They have 3 good charities they are donating to and all donations will be split equally 3 ways.

And, this is the begining of thier project, the car. A simple Saab 9-5 estate – they are going to turn this into a TankSaab 9-5 wagon like a tank

  • 4 x Reflective jackets
  • 2 x Warning Triangles for the car

Setting off from Denbigh town centre on June 6, the main event begins the following day in Dover.

The team will then board the ferry to France to start their adventure which will involve 4 days of driving from France to Spain before their arrival in Benidorm.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
