Helicopter footage of a high-speed police chase shows a Saab driver reach speeds of up to 90mph (144km/h) as he lead police on a terrifying chase through Bristol (UK).
Police tried to stop him after a report of a Saab car being driven erratically at speed, Bristol Crown Court heard.
But he didn’t stop, roared off at three times the speed limit and was driving so dangerously, Police gave chase in a patrol car, but it was deemed too dangerous to continue and officers aborted a ground pursuit and tracked him by helicopter.
The car was recorded as it veered erratically through the city streets, ignoring traffic signals throughout the 30-minute joyride. Eventually a stinger device was deployed to deflate his tyres and he leapt from the vehicle, leaving a “hysterical” woman passenger behind.
Miraculously no-one was hurt but a judge who jailed Watson said he ‘treated the roads of this city as if they were yours and yours alone.’ A similar event happened last year, also in the UK.
