Saab 9-3 Convertible 2.0T Aero

SAAB 9-3 CONVERTIBLE 2.0T AERO

A convertible? In this weather? Well, this isn’t any old convertible, it’s a Saab and the soft top is constructed in three layers, to provide protection even in the severe Swedish winters. Sitting inside the car, you wouldn’t even know it’s a soft top. The roof folds down in 20 seconds, and can be operated at speeds of up to 20mph. There’s no fastening or manual locking to do – the whole thing is fully automatic – just hold the switch and be amazed!

The engine is the fantastic Saab 9-3 2.0T 210bhp – very smooth and powerful. This car has a full SAAB specialist service history, with the last service just 3000 miles ago, the mileage now being just 101k. The car also features air con, cruise control, radio/cd, electric windows and mirrors etc. Everything works, the clutch and gearbox are just as you’d expect and the brakes are excellent.

The interior is full leather and is in excellent condition. The rear seats look to have not been used much. Some of the controls that are used most show some wear, but overall it’s a really good looking interior.

Saab Convertible for Sale

Bodywork is pretty good for the age, with a few small marks that you’d expect from a car of this age. One wing mirror is damaged and we are sourcing a replacement. The soft top would benefit from a wash and re-proof, which we’ll do if the weather permits, but it keeps everything out as it is.

The car is very easy to drive with a light clutch and steering and an easy gear change.

Goran Aničić
the authorGoran Aničić
For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
