Up for Sale: 1994 Saab 900s Scarab Green Convertible

Saab 900 convertible

Up for sale from this weekend due to having too many 900 projects on the go. 1994 Saab 900s Convertible in Scarab Green color, 5 speed manual. 139k Mot until June 2019 no advisories, this is a 2.1cc b212 non turbo model so pretty rare in the UK.

It has a bit more grunt than the uk 900i with better flowing head and manifolds and gets along quite nicely with plenty of torque and sounds very nice. Mechanically sound, in daily use, serviced with lots of history, and recently completed 1000 round trip with no problems returning 38mpg average for the trip.

Lots of new parts fitted in the last 6 months, ball joints, front and rear shocks (Bilstien) 4 springs (20ml lowered Kilen) 4 new tyres, plus service parts.  Engine starts perfectly and runs beautifully, very quiet with no rattles or lifter noise etc.. clutch kit plus slave and master cylinders fitted a couple of months ago, gearbox changes smoothly with no crunching etc.. 4 new tyres.

Saab 900s for sale

Cosmetically good, some bubbling on one side of the bonnet ( owner has a spare bonnet he can get sprayed and fitted depending on price agreed) bottoms of doors are good as is the boot floor and corners, wheel arches etc all good, it has a receipt for £1800 in welding for all the problem areas underneath by previous owner. Paintwork is shiney, not perfect but cleans up and looks good, a few marks here and there and a scrape on the corner of the bumper. Full aero kit. Roof is in good condition, not faded or shrunk etc.

Interior is leather with re trimmed door cars and has the extra leather on the top and armrest parts of the door cards, all Windows work perfectly etc… All gauges and buttons work properly. Electric memory heated front seats have been fitted (from a 9000) they are a lighter shade of cream but again can be re dyed to match depending on deal. Has aircon and a receipt for upgrade to modern gas a few years ago but haven’t used it as I always have the top down.

In summary a lovely daily driver, handles very well, not perfect show condition but looks very nice. Turbo grill will be taken off but the original chrome grill is in perfect condition. A regrettable sale but owner has another Saab 900 convertible plus a 3 door project so it has to go.

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
