Saab 900 Club Hungary organize the “33rd Saab meeting”

Saab 900 Club Hungary cordially invites all Saab car fans and members of their families to the 33rd Saab meeting taking place in the thermal spa camping in Borgata at Kemenesalja, from 28 until 30 June, 2019.

Their Summer-meeting, as usual, will be 3 days long starting at 16 o’clock on Friday, 28th June and ending at noon – or in the afternoon – on Sunday, 30th June.

Already the location alone with its excellent thermal water and pools is worth staying for a weekend, which organizers will make even more exciting with exploring a real Volcano. Birth, history and activity of Volcanos’ will be explained in a colourful way at the amazing exhibition of Kemenes Volcano Park, Hungary’s single museological institution about Volcanos.

Saab 900 Club Magyarorszag

This year both registration fee and accomodation fee should be paid in advance – as agreed with the operator of the thermal spa. Registration fee covers lunch and dinner on Saturday, tickets for the programs and for the guided tour and other expenses. You may find detailed information on registration fee here.

After registering you will receive an e-mail with all necessary information about your accomodation and the exact amount you have to pay. You should pay the given amoung via bank transfer until 1st June to the account of the Club (Association).

Registration deadline: 1st June.

Programme

Friday, 28 June, 2019

  • Arrival from 16:00. Checking in, getting to know each other, mingle and chit-chat, bathing in the thermal spa, etc. Food is available from the restaurant and several buffet (serving fish and chips, lánogs – Hungarian deep fried flat bread) at the spa.
  • At 19:00 spa closes, and closes all catering too! Our programme will continue at the chalets with some local wine and snacks for those arriving late.

  • From 8:00 Breakfast for those staying at the camping in the restaurant of the spa.
  • 9:30 start of the car tour to the Volcano.
  • 10:00 Guided tour at Kemenes Volcano Park and Visitors’ Centre (ticket is included in registration fee)
  • 12:00 Lunch in Krisztina Inn, at Ság-hegy (Ság-mountain, accessible by car and on foot):
    • Sági-borzas (pork deep fried with potato coat) with steamed rice
    • Chicken breast with tomato and cheese, with steamed rice
    • Camembert with blueberries and French fries
    • For children: fried steak (port steak in bread crumb) with French fries
    • (Lunch is included in registration fee)

  • 13:30 A guided short trip (walking) into the Volcano.
  • 15:00 Heading back to Borgáta
  • 15:30 Free time in the Spa (ticket included in registration fee)
  • 15:30 Traditional Saab-part identification game
  • 19:00 Spa closes, deadline for submitting votes and test sheets
  • 19:00 Meat-stew dinner in the restaurant of the spa (price included in registration fee)
  • 20:00 Announcement of winners (most beautiful Saab), raffle prize draw, free program, party – as long as we wish. We will bring some quality local wine and soft drinks, but if you have some special needs, please bring it with you. Please note that there are no restaurants in the neighborhood.
  • Night bathing – if requested and if we can arrange it.

  • From 8:00 Breakfast for those staying at the camping in the restaurant of the spa.
  • 10:00 Leaving for Kislőd, to Sobri Jóska Adventure and Amusement Park – the location of our meeting of 2010. (Entry fee: 3.500 HUF/children up to 5 years, 5.500 HUF/person above 5 years. Should be paid individually).

If you wish to stay in the thermal Spa for Sunday too, you have to purchase a ticket for 1700 HUF/person.

The organisers reserve the right to update or change the event programme.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
