The new developed Gearbox type 8,8 for Saab 99-900

SAAB Gearbox Parts proudly presents the new developed type 8,8 for SAAB 99-900 primary. Saab Gearboc Parts is a company with long experience of SAAB’s gearboxes and also the development of special parts for reinforced and modified street / racing boxes.

This primary is new developed complement to the 8,5 primary and has got simular specifikations like the 8,5 but has got a higher ratio. Compared whith the 8,5 it gives the following speeds at 1000 rpm. 8,5 primary will give gearboxes from 77-80 41,0 km/h at 1000 rpm, 81-88 43,5 km/h and 89-94 41,0 km/h.

8,8 primary will give 77-80 44,5 km/h at 1000 rpm, 81-88 47,0 km/h and 89-94 44,5 km/h.
The differences between the model years depends on the final gear that are 9:35 = 3,89:1 77-80, 89-94 type 8,5 2195 rpm in 90 km/h and 9:33 = 3,67:1 81-88 2068 rpm in 90 km/h 9:35 = 3,89:1 77-80, 89-94 type 8,8 2022 rpm in 90 km/h and 9:33 = 3,67:1 81-88 1914 rpm in 90 km/h. All figures depends on wheel size and are aprox.

Saab 900 gearbox

These primarys are equipped whith reinforced Iwis chains, modified tensioner and decreases the torque on the gearset that gives a stronger gearbox, the RPM will be very low that gives the owner a feeling of driving a modern car, also the noise will be much lower in the cabin, better comfort.

It also increses the axcelleration of the car cause of less shiftings, no problems getting over 100 km/h on second gear. And the best for the enviroment, the fuel consumption can be up to 2 decilitres less per 10 km of driving. The pictures shows both the 8,5 and 8,8 and dismantling 8,5 and mounting 8,8.
