The Saab community in America is thriving thanks to the efforts of Mr. Allan Holmes and his team at The SAAB Club of North America (SCNA). They organize events and gather the Saab community together to celebrate and appreciate the beloved brand. We are excited to share with the global Saab community the upcoming Track Day event, taking place at the SAAB Owners’ Convention on July 15th – 18th in Albany, NY.

The Saab 9-3 SS special purpose-built by The Elite Motors race car at the New York Safety Track

The convention’s opening event, the SAAB Track Day, will be held at the New York Safety Track in Harpersfield, NY on Thursday, July 15th. This driving event will showcase the technical skills of the Saab cars on the track’s 2.2-mile, 18-turn layout complete with challenging corners, 450′ of elevation changes, and 7 heart-racing drops. Attendees will have the opportunity to test their own Saab cars on the track with the added safety of a pace car, the Saab 9-3 SS special purpose-built by The Elite Motors race car. All skill levels, novice, intermediate, and advanced, are welcome to attend the SAAB Track Day event.

In addition, professional photographer Peter Levins Photography & Design will be onsite to capture still pictures, action videos, and drone footage of the event. All images and video clips of attendees will be available for viewing and purchase after the event. Don’t miss out on this epic experience, hurry and register before the remaining spots are filled.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
