It is difficult for anyone who is currently buying a car because delivery times are long, the used car market is empty and the rest are expensive. At the same time, it’s a good time for sellers because anyone who wants to sell their used vehicle can earn more than ever before.
It is time to invest in something other than shares. That’s why people are investing far and wide in everything from cryptocurrency to wine, wristwatches and rare sneakers. Cars are also popular investment objects, and today you can even buy a share in old, rare and expensive cars, which will pay off over the years.
What is even more interesting about these investment (SAAB) cars? Before selling them, they can be used and enjoyed on Sunday trips, and they also have great potential to become more valuable over time. In the last two years, many Saab cars have been sold on the global market, which belong to the youngtimer class and the class of classic cars, whose price has reached and exceeded 50,000 dollars or euros.
One such example is the Saab sold about ten days ago via the BaT website at an auction for almost 45 thousand dollars. It’s a beautiful 1991 Saab 900 SE Turbo Convertible 5-Speed in Monte Carlo Yellow with a gray aerodynamic Airflow package. This is the dream of many Saab enthusiasts, but as time passes, those who want a car like this will have to shell out more and more money.
Be that as it may, buying a car like this is no longer self-indulgence but a good investment. No one can guarantee you that you will become rich. But the market indicates that classic Saab cars are not without potential as investment objects.
The Saab 900 Turbo is from the time when turbo-powered passenger cars were still quite rare. At the launch of the Saab 900 in 1978, however, Saab had already messed around a bit with the turbo mechanics. Most recently in the predecessor Saab 99 a few years before, and then of course in connection with their well-run side business in aircraft production.
The Saab 900 Turbo is unlike any other car in appearance or technology – neither then nor today. And, this specimen is also rare in the field of Saab cars. his 1991 Saab 900 SE Turbo convertible is finished in Monte Carlo Yellow over black leather upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transaxle.
Equipment includes headlight wipers, an Airflow body kit, fog lamps, a power-operated black soft top, 16″ alloy wheels, air conditioning, heated and power-adjustable front seats, and a Clarion cassette stereo. The car was first registered in New Jersey and spent time in New York, Florida, and Texas before it was acquired by the seller in March 2022.This 900 Turbo shows 78k miles and the car was offered with partial service records, but a clean Carfax report and a clean Texas title in the seller’s name.
All this was enough for the car to attract a lot of attention from buyers-bidders. On the day of the auction ten days ago, the auction price started at some $12,000. After a great auction battle of many potential buyers, the auction hammer came down after a bid of a whopping $44,900.
The achieved auction price is really high, but still three times less than last month’s record holder, also a Saab convertible but practically unused. Also, if you look at the last few tens of auctions on the BaT website, you will see that almost all auctions ended with five-digit amounts.
Crisp in England means rusty. What does it mean here?
