TechROi, primarily known for serving major industrial firms in the area, has ventured into the automotive sector with a focus on Saab’s legacy. The company’s operations are based in Saab’s former prototype workshop, known as KMX, in Stallbacka. Here, TechROi not only fabricates prototypes for various car manufacturers but also remanufactures parts for vintage Saabs.
Bridging the Gap: Meeting the Demand for Saab Spare Parts
The firm’s recent surge in activity is attributed to several new framework agreements, necessitating an increase in workforce. TechROi is set to recruit 18 new employees, including engineers and prototype manufacturers. Carl Christensen, the business developer at TechROi, expressed excitement over this expansion and the positive response from the Saab community.
Collaborative Efforts: TechROi and the Swedish Saab Club
In a landmark collaboration that marks a new chapter for Saab enthusiasts, TechROi has joined forces with the Swedish Saab Club to address the increasing scarcity of spare parts for various Saab models. This partnership is more than just a business venture; it’s a concerted effort to preserve the legacy of a beloved car brand.
The synergy between TechROi and the Swedish Saab Club has led to the development of a targeted approach towards manufacturing. Together, they have identified the most needed parts among the Saab community. The list, curated with inputs from club members, includes parts for both newer and older Saab models, ensuring that no Saab owner is left behind.
Carl Christensen, TechROi’s business developer, has expressed immense satisfaction with this partnership. “Working closely with the Swedish Saab Club has given us invaluable insights into the needs of Saab owners,” he said. “It’s not just about numbers; it’s about being part of a community that shares a passion for Saab.”
The Impact of New Hires on Saab’s Legacy
Additionally, in collaboration with the Swedish Saab Club, TechROi has initiated the production of new parts for Saab models, addressing the growing scarcity of spare parts. Over 200,000 Saab vehicles still navigate Swedish roads, and more than a million globally, reflecting a substantial market for these parts.
Christensen shared that the first batch of these newly manufactured parts is scheduled for delivery before Christmas. This development comes as a relief to Saab owners, especially as it’s been over a decade since the last Saab rolled off the production line.
TechROi’s journey began in 1996 and has since evolved to encompass a diverse clientele, including Volvo, GKN Aerospace, Siemens, Cevt, and Geely Design. The automotive industry accounts for approximately 30% of TechROi’s customer base.
Saab Enthusiasts Rejoice: A Future Without Parts Shortage
This resurgence of parts production for Saab vehicles by TechROi marks a significant step in preserving the legacy of a brand cherished by many. For Saab owners, this development not only ensures the availability of spare parts for their vehicles but also symbolizes the enduring spirit of the Saab community.
