I loved the 9000 T and had one for several years. While the bodywork was superb and the mechanics were well maintained, the potential cost of a new gearbox and clutch system meant that the repairs would cost more than the market value of the vehicle.
Thus I traded it in for a SAAB 95. While the 95 was a hi-spec executive car, it exuded way too much bland GM styling for my taste. I never thought of it as a SAAB.
Saab was such a great company, looking after people’s safety first and performance… what a shame they couldn’t hold on the market … will keep my 9-5 for a long time 👌
Saab represented for me first comes quality, style, comfort and Sweadish perfectionality with precision. My best wishes from Türkiye to Saab employees before and now .
My daily driver is a 1993 900s with 125k, and I flog it like a rented mule. My nice 87 900 turbo is down cause I broke the motor…. cause I was red lining it cause I was having fun. As soon as it’s fixed, I will start beating the crap out of it…. cause it’s fun.
That 9000 is stunning
SAAB Wil always be Timeless Elegance that’s why we want SAAB to come back now
I have been driving a 2001 9-5 Aero in Australia for about 2 years now. I have enjoyed it so much that I have bought a similar but upgraded 9-5 in Malaysia. Looking forward to driving it on Malaysian highways. Thoroughly satisfied
I miss my 1996 Saab 9000 turbo.I now have a 2006 Saab 9-3 aero.
Shame that you didn’t show the seats, dash and interior. It was sumptuous. I wish that my 2008 9-5 had the 9000’s interior.
I actually owned a 1997 9000cse turbo 5 spd for 6yrs until it got rear-ended on the interstate sadly! I loved that car & was about to do some minor repairs to get her back in tip top shape until it got totalled!
I had an OEM Airflow package on my 900T, it was very unique, I got lots of compliments. I miss that car!
I have one for sale left-hand drive been standing for 8 years lether interiors very good body with out any rust it will make a good proget for someone, open to offers! I’m based in Leicestershire phone number 07463842582
I bought a new 9000S 5spd in Santa Fe, NM in 1990 and drove it home to NJ. No car is perfect but it has the best balance of performance, safety, utility, durability, and styling of anything I’ve ever owned.
I used to have the same, black one…
for Italian market 2.0 Sport 1990 cat free with 204hp…
only difference from that one is
5 spoke 16″ Fondmetal,
leather/alcantara seats,
different steering wheel
single exhouse pipe
Had one of these in the 90s loved it.
Brings back memories. I had a UK 1987/88 one of these airflows. It had distributor ignition and the red APC module. I then had a 1989 9000 Carlsson which was almost the same but had a 3 spoke steering wheel, Carlsson Graphics and the new DI/APC system. Both were very quick cars for their time but I found the airflow to be much more reliable.

I was absolutely in love with my 9000T. As an airline pilot the cockpit was fully appreciated. I had to sell when I moved overseas. When I needed a new car, Saab was no more. I walked into and Audi dealer for an Audi A4 Quatro and told him I was only there as Saabs were no longer available and he was my SECOND choice.
I ‘like’ the A4, but LOVED the soul of the 9000T. I miss it still, 37 years later.
Den er bygget op på samme undervogn, som en fiat Chroma, og Lancia tema. Den 9000. Chroma turbo ie, det var vildt, 1050 kg, bremse det kunne den ikke fra 180, det klare den i 3 gear ikke mere vej
It is peculiar that their fans can’t recognise that SAABs were never less ungainly looking than the Morris Marina.
