SaabFest 2025 Takes Flight: Where Iconic Saabs Meet Legendary Aircraft at Shuttleworth

The Ultimate Saab Gathering Returns: Classic Cars, Vintage Aircraft, and a Weekend of Pure Saab Enthusiasm

SaabFest 2025 lands at Shuttleworth Collection—where iconic Saabs and legendary aircraft share the runway.

Saab Owners Club GB is preparing to host SaabFest 2025 at one of the UK’s most storied aviation and automotive venues, the Shuttleworth Collection in Bedfordshire. Set to take place on July 19-20, 2025, this year’s SaabFest is shaping up to be one of the most unique Saab gatherings to date, offering attendees an unparalleled mix of classic Saab engineering and aviation heritage.

With vintage aircraft taking off alongside pristine Saab models, the event promises a rare fusion of two industries rooted in innovation and aerodynamic excellence—something Saab enthusiasts can deeply appreciate.

A Venue That Celebrates Both Saab and Aviation Heritage

Choosing the Shuttleworth Collection as the venue for SaabFest 2025 is nothing short of a stroke of brilliance. Located at Old Warden Aerodrome, Shuttleworth is home to some of the world’s oldest airworthy aircraft, including the legendary 1909 Blériot XI, the 1918 Avro 504K, and the 1941 Supermarine Spitfire MK VC2.

This connection to aviation resonates deeply with Saab’s own aeronautical roots. Saab, originally an aircraft manufacturer, infused its car designs with aerodynamic efficiency, safety innovations, and forward-thinking technology. To see classic Saabs lined up along an active airstrip where aviation history is literally taking off is a fitting tribute to the brand’s DNA.

Beyond aircraft, Shuttleworth also houses rare vintage cars, motorcycles, and a working steam locomobile—offering a rich mechanical tapestry that will appeal to any petrolhead attending the event.

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
