The Great Western Saabs Club is thrilled to announce its 17th annual February Stroll, set to take place on the 26th of February 2023. This year, the club will be visiting the mystical and magical town of Glastonbury, known for its legends of King Arthur, the Holy Grail, and other mystical elements. The event promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience for all Saab enthusiasts who are passionate about the Swedish automaker’s rich history and legacy.
Glastonbury is an ideal location for this year’s February Stroll, offering stunning views, rich cultural heritage, and a chance to explore a town filled with magic and wonder. For those who have the inclination, a walk up the iconic Glastonbury Tor is a must-do activity, providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area. The town is also home to Glastonbury Abbey, a site of significant historical importance, and a hub of medieval legends and folklore.
The itinerary for the day starts with a meet-up at Sedgemoor Services on the M5, where attendees will have a chance to catch up with their fellow Saab enthusiasts over a cup of coffee and engage in lively conversation. The convoy will then embark on a 40-minute drive to Glastonbury, where attendees will park their vehicles in St Johns Square car park. This will be followed by a leisurely stroll around the town, giving everyone a chance to explore the local shops, attractions, and historic sites.
After a full morning of exploring, the convoy will take a scenic drive through Wells and the Mendip Hill en route to the New Inn in Blagdon. The New Inn is a charming pub and restaurant that offers stunning views of the surrounding lakes and countryside.
Here, the group will have the opportunity to indulge in a delicious lunch, with a choice of locally sourced Beef, Pork, Turkey Roast dinner with Roast potatoes and Vegetables, Nut Roast with New Potatoes, or Vegan Roast Potatoes and a choice of vegetarian gravy. The meal will also include a selection of puddings, such as Rhubarb crumble with cream or custard, and other treats.
The Great Western Saabs Club would like to remind all attendees that seating at the New Inn is limited to 43, and pre-orders for the main meal and puddings must be made by Monday 20th February. To secure your seat, you can either message David Dallimore, one of the co-founders of GWS, or send an email to greatwesternsaabs@gmail.com.
