China’s DJI made a gutsy move with the release of the DJI Phantom 3 drone. Range is up from ~500 m (1,640 ft) to a whopping 2 km (1.2 mi) and beyond, although the video feed gets a bit blocky beyond a few hundred meters.

Yesterday the two friends and fans of Saab cars went for a little drive around South Coast Mass, one of the friends had brought his DJI Phantom 3 camera drone to do some shooting. Here’s the result, excuse them for the rather poor video quality (just 720p), the editing was done on an iPhone. However they are pretty satisfied of how the video came out! In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
