Fatal accident: Saab 9-7x vs. Pontiac Grand Am

Although many fans of Saab claim that the Saab 9-7x  is not a “real” Saab, this car is still is a real Saab – at least in terms of safety. Safety features that come standard on 9-7x includes front, side-impact, and side curtain airbags. Also standard is StabiliTrak stability control, traction control, and anti-lock disc brakes.

This is shown by the many critical situations in which participated robust 9-7x, and the last occurred yesterday, in early morning crash in Kent County, near Detroit (USA). The two-car crash occurred just before 6 a.m.

According to the local sheriff’s department, a Saab 9-7x was driving west on 6 Mile Road when the unnamed driver failed to yield the right of way at the stop sign at Lincoln Lake Road. At that time, the Saab 9-7X crashed into a Pontiac Grand Am that was driving south on Lincoln Lake.

The driver of the Pontiac, 58-year-old David Cliff, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Saab was taken to a local hospital for minor injuries.

A form filled out by deputies at the scene indicate the at-fault driver might have been under the influence of alcohol, however, toxicology reports are pending to determine if alcohol were involved.
