Saab 9-3 Convertible is Truly a Wonderful All-Round Machine

Saab 9-3 Convertible

Even among non-fans of Saab cars, Saab convertibles have a cult status, such as the famous Saab 900 Convertible. Of course, most car manufacturers do not have and have never had convertibles in their offer, but even those who produce cars in this form have not always been successful. However, since Saab started producing Convertible models, their convertibles (cabriolets- cabrios) have always been appreciated.

Also, it is a nice surprise when someone who is not a fan of Saab cars, based on his experience, can compare Saab cars and various other competitors, and then he has words of praise for the extinguished Swedish brand. Just such praise for the Saab Convertible was recently uttered by Dutch convertible enthusiast Michiel Werkman.

As he himself testifies, he only drives convertible car models, and during his driving career he changed as many as 20 different Convertible cars of different brands, but only a year ago he met the Saab Convertible – and he was delighted.

It’s a car to take the long way home

Here are his words: “1 year and 12,000 kilometers further, our 9-3 vector has proven to be an honest and reliable daily driver + funtub. We drove about 5,000 km within the Netherlands and the rest beyond. Mostly on challenging forest, country and mountain roads in France, Switzerland, Italy and Germany. This is our twentieth convertible car but first Saab. It is truly a wonderful all-round machine. With only 72,000km on the clock, many more kilometers will follow. Top-down as much as possible, that speaks for itself. It’s a car to take the long way home.

Thanks to the large number of miles traveled, the great experience with cars of various brands, this testimony is a great recognition for the Saab brand and speaks of the great quality of our dear Swedish car (ex)manufacturer, and also speaks of the uniqueness of the brand in every sense. Michiel has not been a Saab fan so far, but his testimony and experience show that he will soon become one.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
