On July 20, 2015 at 0846 hours, police were called to the scene of a motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles on Route One near the Kennebunk town line, in Wells – York County, Maine, United States.
Witnesses at the scene stated that a 2007 Saab 9-3 SportCombi operated by Tyler Sullivan, 21 of Salem NH was traveling north on Route One at a high rate of speed. Witnesses stated that Saab was passing a car when he struck a southbound 2015 Volkswagen, operated by Deborah James, 62 of Freeport.
After making contact with James’ vehicle, Saab 9-3 continued across the southbound travel lane and struck several trees and flips car onto roof. James had to be extricated from her vehicle by rescue personnel. Route One was shut down for several hours while police investigated the scene. Sullivan was transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland where he is listed in stable condition. James was transported to York Hospital in York where she was treated and released. The Maine Warden Service responded with a Certified Accident Reconstructionist to assist in the investigation.
