Saab 9-3 “TX Edition”

A few years ago, when the Saab plant was still producing cars, Saab released some 60th anniversary models that were offered in limited quantities and sell out quickly and were widely regarded as representing excellent value.

In 2009, Saab 9-3 series expands the trim levels while dropping the limited-edition Turbo X saloon and estate from the lineup. The TX package has been built on the “Turbo X” package, inspired by the success of the black Saab 9-3 Turbo X limited edition.

TX editions are distinguished by a titanium-like finish to the grille, front bumper insert and other exterior detailing, together with 17 or 18-inch split-spoke alloy wheels. The cabin features carbon fiber trim, a thick-rimmed leather steering wheel and unique carpet mats.  TX edition Saab 9-3 model was available in 6 colors.

Upgrade further to the TX edition with bunch of Turbo-X inspired goodies added into the bargain:

  • Aero front bumper
  • titanium finish grille
  • front fog light surrounds
  • special 17″ 5-spoke alloy wheels
  • perforated leather sport steering wheel
  • carbon fibre effect decor
  • carpet floor mats with grey edge piping

In 2011, All Saab 9-3 Vector and Aero models continue to include a ‘TX’ edition. That year, In Linear specification, the TX edition was offered in all colors, together with front fog lamps, 16-inch split-spoke alloy wheels, carbon fiber cabin trim and a sports leather steering wheel.

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
