A Rare Gem in Automotive History

The SAAB 9000 2.3 Turbo Aero like Ecosport Prototype is not just a car; it’s a piece of automotive history. This vehicle is particularly special because it was the personal car of Stig Göran Larsson, the technical director of SAAB Automobile AB. Adding to its exclusivity, it is the only 9000 Aero in this specific test color, the same hue used for the 9000 Ecosport prototype back in 1993. For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.

  • Great cars I used to commute from Akron, OH to upstate N.Y. rarely let me down. I had a red one.

  • I owned a 98 version. Best car I had till this day. I should’ve repair it.
    I will own another one.

  • My 9000 Anniversary in Imola red with black leather, 170bhp low pressure turbo was the best car I have owned from 21 Saabs. 165,000 miles and never used any oil.
    Sadly now off the road.

  • I had a 2004 9.3 Aero convertible which caught light on French Motorway. I found an absolutely immaculate Aero 2009 convertible replacement in England 91,000 miles. I love the design comfort and acceleration from the 2 litre turbo. Long ago I had a 900 Turbo Carlsson which was also a dream.
Hope Saab appears from the ashes and puts some wonder cars into manufacturing.
