Scottish Saab Enthusiasts – Head For The Hills!

Scottish Saab Enthusiasts extend an open invitation to all Saab owners and enthusiasts to join them on Saturday 27th October as they Head For The Hills on a run along some of their nation’s most picturesque driving roads.

Route/Itinerary

Meeting up first at Perth SAAB – where you can pick up any pre-ordered, genuine Saab winter service essentials – between 10:00-11:00 at Manson Road, Perth, PH2 8AQ.

After coffee/teas and rolls at Perth Saab, Saab group leave Perth at 11:00 and then head west – via the Sma’ Glen – towards Lochearnhead and then north up to Killin. This part of the route is approx. 48.7 miles (1hr 31 mins)

Head for the Hills

Lunch at The Capercaillie, Killin. The Capercaillie has a 40-space car park and there has been a provisional reservation for 20 guests from the Saab community made. It is dug-friendly too!

After lunch, group will head north east from Killin along the banks of Loch Tay and past Ben Lawers towards Aberfeldy. At Aberfeldy, they head south east down the Old Military Road through the Tay Forest Park to Dunkeld. This part of the route is approx. 39.6 miles (1hr 05 mins). Then, At Dunkeld, Saab groupcan stop for coffee/afternoon tea and then members can head home.

As Dunkeld is on the A9, it is ideally situated for anyone heading back in the Inverness direction. For attendees from Angus and Aberdeenshire, they can easily get back up north by heading over via Blairgowrie towards Forfar/Brechin. And for those in the Central Belt and South, it’s a trip back down the A9 to Perth and then on home. Come along and get involved!

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
