Summer Weekend 2018 and the 41st Troll-Rallye

The Saab club Saab Freunde Erftkreis were established in the year 1978. Therefore members of this club are to drink a toast to their 40th anniversary in 2018.

In the year of club anniversary, they are going to carry out our traditional summer weekend and the 41st Troll-Rallye in the vicinity of our home which they would like to show and share with Saabers as Cologne, Aachen and the Eifel region are not far at all.

With Obbendorf Castle in D-52382 Niederzier-Hambach, Club have certainly found an appropriate venue where they would like to welcome you in a unique atmosphere amidst beautiful scenery.

The owners of the family business Stephanie and Heinrich Müller delightedly await this interesting Saab meeting. Once again, this year organizers will kick off the official meeting at noon time on Friday, May 11, 2018. For Friday afternoon, they are planning to take thier Saab cars out on a tour.

The total participation fee covers two overnight stays including breakfast, the dinners on Friday and Saturday night as well as the Saab excursion on Saturday and a coffee break along the way. Organizers  are going to start the Troll-Rallye on Saturday at noon at Obbendorf Castle in Niederzier- Hambach, expecting to arrive at the finish line in the early evening. It is their goal to prepare a calm and placid Saab excursion with plenty of time to experience the country and its people as well as enough opportunities to exchange views among Saabists.

Autumn Meeting 2017 Letzebuerg

On Saturday, after dinner participants will proceed with the award ceremony of the 41st Troll-Rallye and then continue their open-end evening with a raffle. The Sunday morning will be fully characterized by the griffin and Saab vehicles. Organizers are going to organize a small parts market. Exhibitors and vendors are cordially invited to join them, which organizers will not charge any fees for. Registration is required, though, and exhibitors are expected to bring their own stalls.

By their experience from previous meetings, organizers know that participants who need to travel a long way are likely to arrive already on Thursday. Although they do not offer an official pre-program on Thursday, nothing speaks against going on a Saab excursion together on Thursday afternoon to explore the surroundings. An early arrival on Thursday is possible as they have reserved a number of rooms for that night.

For the participation in the 41st Troll-Rallye and the dinner on Saturday only organisers charge a fee of 60 € per person. They kindly ask you to use theis registration form. The registration deadline is on March 2, 2018. At the end of March, they are going to send invoices asking to settle all payments by mid-April.

Organisers cordially invite all members and friends of the club and of the SAAB brand to join them for their anniversary. They will be glad to welcome once again new Saab enthusiasts who up to now have been unknown to them.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
