Jan ”Flash” Nilsson has completed his first proper test at Karlskoga ahead of his Scandinavian Touring Car Championship comeback. ”I can’t remember the last time I was happy as I have been today. It was awesome to drive the car. The car is really fast and a challenge to drive, this is what motorsport is about,” said ”Flash”.

The double STCC champion completed a full day of testing at Karlskoga behind the wheel of Team Tidö’s third Saab 9-3. ”It was clear that Jan enjoyed driving a car again and you can tell that he has driven a lot in the past. It didn’t take that much time for him to get back in it again,” said team owner David von Schinkel.

”Flash” has gathered a number of team members from his former team Flash Engineering to work with him for the two races this year. ”We work really well together and we have been around each other more or less since 2001. I feel well taken care of in the team and it is going to be great to resume my cooperation with my former team manager Johan Kvick and engineer Joakim Zetterström,” said ”Flash”.

Team Tidö is going to field three cars in the final two races at Solvalla and Mantorp Park for ”Flash” and regular drivers Richard Göransson and Roger Samuelsson.

the authorGoran Aničić
For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
