The Custom Multimedia Infotainment System with Navigation for Saab 9-3 (MY 03-06 )

Believe you or not, one of their distributor of Saab which is located 10,000 km away from Sweden, named Scandinavia Asia Corporation (hereafter, “SAC”), is still keeping 7 direct workshops and 12 contract workshops around Taiwan. Since it was introduced in 1981, SAC have 20 service offices throughout Taiwan.

Thanks to their expertise, they have developed an interesting multimedia solution for the first generation of Saab 9-3 cars (MY 03-06).

SAC has developed successfully the multimedia infotainment system with navigation for MY03~06 Saab 9-3, which have the built-in octa-core Android system, BT 4.0 Bluetooth and combine the functions of TPMS, dashcam, digital TV, the backup camera as well as the steering wheel switch.

A similar solution, they also developed for the second generation of the Saab 9-3 model (MY2007+) – Modular designed of fully-functional navigation and media system for Saab aftermarket in which combine with DVD player, build-in navigation system, inputs of SD/USB, Bluetooth (telephone and music streaming) and mobile phone interconnections, as well as ready for inputs of dashcam, backup camera, digital TV and TPMM.

You can connect your iPhone wirelessly or Android smartphone via USB cable to access some of your favorite apps directly on car dash. For Android, you can even experience a bidirectional control between your phone and the unit. Enjoying a full on-screen access experience through the large and clear touchscreen, and helping you stay focus on the road.

Navigation can be achieved easily by using the online, offline map or purchasing a map card. However, unfortunately for Saab car owners around the world – SAC cannot sell this set up to overseas because of high skill needed for installation, besides, the built-in Navigation system ( NAV system that you can see in a video) is only for Taiwan market.

In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
