As the Corona virus pandemic around the world has subsided, this has encouraged many Saab car clubs around the world to organize their first rallies after two years of dormancy. This was also the case with the National Saab Club of Uruguay, a small but fairly strong club with dedicated members who held their first post-pandemic gathering there last weekend.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Carlos Abeiro from Montevideo, who was so kind as to send us a report from this gathering of the Uruguay Club, which will make many happy and encourage them to socialize within their clubs (let us also recall last year’s gathering). Also, the report would not be complete without great photos expertly taken by photographer Gonzalo Abeiro, and I thank him for the photos provided, which testify to the existence of a strong Saab community in South America.
Last weekend, the members of the Club Saab Uruguay held their first meeting of the year in a farm in the city of Pando, a small city located between the capital Montevideo and the most important seaside resort in the country, Punta del Este.
One group left Montevideo and another from Punta del Este, and both of these teams gathered at the gas station in Pando and then all going together to the farm where the gathering was scheduled and held.
In that farm, it was possible to enjoy the Saab, talks, barbecue and a good drink.
Among the many things that were discussed, several proposals were raised for the next activities of the Club, so that for this 2022, pleasant surprises await them from this South American group of brand enthusiasts. Of course, you can enjoy the scenes from the photos taken at this lovely gathering of fans of the Swedish car brand.
Thanks for sharing! BR, Carlos Abeiro
This is so cool. Love the lineup photo with all of those old SAAB’s still running!!! ( You all are taking great care of them!!!)…kinda reminds me of old American cars in Cuba.
We plan on attending from the USA. My other half is fluent in Spanish and is familiar with Uruguay and Argentina. If anyone else from the USA would like to link up we would be happy to travel with you to ensure everything goes well.
