The Saab Owners Convention “Saab Heritage Car Museum USA” 2022

The Saab Heritage Museum USA

The Saab Owners Convention 2022 will take place at the “Saab Heritage Car Museum USA” in Sturgis South Dakota on July 21-24 2022. The museum will have a parts and memorabilia tent setup throughout the weekend, where many interesting and valuable items will be for sale.

The museum will also sponsor a parts and memorabilia auction on Sunday morning. Sunday’s auction will include the very best donated items. Please take this opportunity to go through your Saab collection and donate any unneeded items. Let’s face it, if you have Saab parts that have been sitting for 20 or more years, it might be a good time to pass them on to someone that can use them. Do not be shy with donations; organizers will take anything from a dashboard knob to an entire car!

To date, approximately 10 cars have been donated to the museum that did not meet the criteria of a display car. Event organizers have decided to auction them off as part of their fund raiser during the SOC. This will be a silent auction, starting on Wednesday and run through Sundays “Charity Parts Auction” (Noon on Sunday). Bidding will take place in person as well as online. All cars will be on display; available for inspection and test drives. Winning bidders will be responsible for same day payment and making all transportation arrangements.

Cars will be held at the museum for up to 90 days free of charge, after which storage fees will be incurred.
Donated items can be brought to the convention in person or shipped to the museum at your expense. If shipping, please have your packages arrive no later than 7/15/22. If delivering the items yourself, simply drop them off at the parts tent at your earliest convenience.

For over 15 years, Goran Aničić has been passionately focused on Saab automobiles and everything related to them. His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
