Here is another unique Saab car in the offer, and there are more and more of them in the last couple of years. All these Saab cars have in common that they are very well preserved, that they have very low mileage and that their prices are skyrocketing.

Extremely low mileage

In this particular case, for the Saab Convertible, the auction is already well underway, the mileage is very low – only 4,200 miles, which practically means that it has not even been driven. This is practically a new car, and a special one at that.

The Saab Convertible – Twenty Years

There are only 5 days left until the end of the auction, and the offered price has already reached 15,000 dollars, which means that the final price will be quite high, and the buyer will receive an exceptional Saab. According to reliable sources of information, Saab made just over 400 cars for the twentieth anniversary of the Saab convertible (some say 412 cars of this version more precisely). And each of these cars has its own unique serial number engraved on the driver’s side rear window.

With this car that is up for auction, the window is engraved with the number #120, which indicates exactly which convertible it is in the “The Convertible – Twenty Years” series. All these convertibles from this series are characterized by the fact that they come with the most powerful V6 turbo gasoline engine and that the larger ones have the well-known six-speed AISIN automatic transmission, and that most of them have a black soft-top.

Full Package

This Saab 9-3 Aero is from 2006 with the 20th Anniversary Package for the US market, and remained registered to its original owner in Oklahoma until the acquisition of the dealership in 2022. The car is in electric blue metallic color, while the interior is in sacred beige leather with blue accents, which is ideal for cruising on scenic roads during spring or summer.

The interior of the cabriolet is completely factory, preserved, and without traces of use, which is almost impossible to find on the market of used cars, especially convertibles.

The rest of the car’s equipment is also characteristic of other Aero Convertible models, together with the effective rear spoiler. At the moment of sale, the price of this car was a rather high $46,515, so it is possible, based on tendencies, to expect that the auction price will be much closer to the original sale price (or even surpass it).

Sold for $43,000!

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.

  • The 400 models links to the 30th years anniversery model (and site). This is a 20 year edition. Way more produced. Still a neat car!

    • Just enquiring, is this correct? The 900 convertible appeared in 1986 and SAAB went out of business in 2011 which is only 25 years later? I may well be wrong but….

  • Saabist comment is misleading, 2016 would have been the 30th anniversary of the Saab convertible in the US, not that a 30th model was produced. That link refers only to a meet up to celebrate 30 years. 400 of the 20th Anniversary model were to be made, but 412 were produced because of demand. A few more were made for Canada but not numbered.
