The Specialized Saab 9-5 NG Meeting in Taiwan

The first of the highly anticipated Saab 9-5 New Generation (NG) cars rolled off the assembly line in 2009.  The new generation model was unveiled in September 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. On November 24, 2009, the first 9-5 NG has finally been launched on the Trollhättan production line.

The station wagon (Sportcombi) was also planned for production, showcasing the new 9-5 SportCombi at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, but it has never been able to be serialized, but there are still a few on the road, a total of 27 pieces were made, thirteen 9-5NG SportCombis were produced on the regular production line in Trollhättan, Sweden, and another twenty in the Saab pre-production workshop called “Frickeboa”.  Unfortunately, Production of the 9-5s ended in March 2011 and the Trollhättan production line stopped due to the company’s insolvency, bringing the total production of NG 9-5 to 11,315.

In fact, the exact number of copies of this model is 11,315, and of that number, exactly 237 9-5 ng cars ended up in the Taiwanese market. We have already written about how strong the Saab community is in Taiwan, and they proved it once again with the last specialized gathering.

On December 29, the event is scheduled at Yunshui hills in Nanzhuang township, in Miaoli County. Although the day was extremely rainy, it did not hinder the Saab community from gathering. On this occasion, only the owners of the Saab 9-5 ng came together and used the dinner to get to know each other and share experiences about this amazing car. After dinner, they took the opportunity to make a small photo session and thanks to that we can enjoy these beautiful scenes from Taiwan.

In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
