Hard work always pays off…
If you’re a fan of SAAB tuner cars, unless you’ve been under a rock for the past couple of years, then you’ve probably seen this fast Saab 9-5 Aero made by John M. Chargois. That SAAB was built by popular @john_chag. aka mrBman and this is Highest Horsepower Saab 9-5 running in the United States – 523whp 533wtq. 600bhp (in Europe, one 9-3 has 700hk)!!!
Here is his Saab story:
I acquired the Saab with originally 20,000 miles and bone stock. After a month of ownership I took the car to full bolt ons and stage 3 tune. A year after that I sent the Saab over to California for the motor build with Wossner pistons, 19t turbo, spec stage 3+ clutch and more. I made 326whp 433wtq on that setup.
After a year on that I got bored and needed more. I decided on the GTX3071r turbo. I had a custom manifold built here by Brett Willet and originally made 419whp. I since have added larger injectors and turned the boost up to 31psi (2000 Mair).
Attached I’ll also include the dyno sheet which shows the beautiful power curve and perfect boost hold until 7,000 rpm.
Future plans are new transmission build since the Maptun gearbox has already messed up 2nd gear syncro.
On the internet you will find a large number of videos in which you can see his “road fight” with other tuners, and you can assume that – in most cases he was a winner. This is his latest video:
Of course, many Saab Tuners are very important to know which setup he uses. For this reason, see the list of the most important modifications below:
