Unique Swedish sports car “Uno 001” with Saab middle engine is available for sale in Trollhättan. The UNO project was created some time in the mid 1980s, more precisely – the project started in 1989 and was completed in 2009.
The idea was to create a Swedish sports car and it was to be built in Linköping, Sweden. But, as a brief Wikipedia article states, “something went wrong“. This car, Uno 001, was the only one completed. With a budget of three million swedish kronor, the Uno project was initiated during the 1980s in Linköping.
The man behind the project, Uno Johansson, had the goal of developing a sports car with newly developed chassis and using a lot of Saab technology. In 1989 the prototype was ready – Uno 001 was born. A Swedish sports car with Saab engine, producing 175 horsepower, wheel suspension from the same manufacturer.

Now, UNO 001 has been completely renovated, inspected and ready for sale. Uno Johansson have once built three sports cars with their own design and frame construction. The first car Uno 001, was introduced in 1988. However, as Uno 001 more sounded like something from a science fiction movie (than a car), the project was renamed “Catlin”. Car number two was completed in 2001 and 2006 Catlin 3 was ready. The entire building is documented with pictures and information about everything.
The body is steel and it has a steel tube frame. The body looks like a mashup of RX7, Camaro, NSX, and Eagle Talon, but – of course – This car definitely looks like a hand built prototype.
