Unseen Saab 9-3 vs. Jet Fighter Race

Briefly seen in the season preview montage aired at the start of Series 18 of Top Gear, this race was, for reasons unknown, cut out of the final broadcast.

Luckily, we’ve got it here for you. Here, Jeremy races a Saab 9-3 (NeoBrothers) against one of the company’s own jet fighters. This was all part of their film tribute to the car company that went bankrupt, but again, it didn’t make the final cut.

Here we have a short clip of some unseen footage from the Top Gear “Saab Tribute” episode. In this clip it features one of our staffs Saab 2.8 V6 9-3 Sport Aero’s being put through its paces on the Top Gear track against a jet plane. The car has a stage 1 Maptun performance upgrade, Neuton NT8000 tyres and EBC performance brake discs and pads.

In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.
