Saab 9000 2.0i CDE

For several months now, on numerous Saab internet forums and groups, we can see an ad offer for the unusually good Saab 9000 2.0i CDE. It is an exceptional youngtimer that is offered at a fairly reasonable price, for what is offered and is offered by the specialized Dutch car dealer CarStory.

According to official history, famous Dutch car dealer “Saab Amsterdam De Snelheid” had the honor to deliver this 9000 CDE on behalf of the leasing company “Terberg Leasing” on November 1, 1992, to “B* van D* & Partners” company.

From the outside, visually, as you can see in the pictures, the car is almost like in factory condition. Since the car was used as a business vehicle, it always had secured parking within the company, and in fact, it was very little in public traffic and public parking lots, as evidenced by the very small number of minor damage to the body and color of the vehicle.

Impeccable interior of Saab 9000

Again, since it is a company vehicle, the lessee was conscientious with their SAAB car, so the car was regularly serviced by an authorized Saab service and all necessary service interventions were performed on time. After leasing, The Saab was replaced by a new car after 3 years and entered the private market. Regardless of everything, the car remained in safe hands and was regularly maintained, so there were no accidents and stayed for several years around Amsterdam; from 1995 to 2009.

The last owner was recorded in Groningen, and due to a leak in the vacuum hose, he practically garaged it and is no longer driving, and the odometer shows only 155,000 kilometers… until today. The Saab still looks great for its age and has minimal signs of wear.

It really is a time capsule, wonderfully sitting velvet/velour chairs with high and soft carpet around you in an indefinable shade of gray, with an obvious wooden inlay: very 90s. This may appeal to those who are fans of young timer cars of that time (the 90s), even though they may not be real Saab enthusiasts.

Everything is working properly on the car, The cruise control and on-board computer are still working flawlessly, and customers are provided with a technical inspection (MOT) of the car before delivery, so they will be sure to buy a completely correct car and be able to drive safely.

His initial encounter with Saab cars took place back in 2003 when the first Saab 9-3 and sedan version were introduced. At that moment, he was captivated by the car's Scandinavian design logic and top-notch engineering, and everything that followed stemmed from that first encounter. Later on, through his work at the editorial team of the Serbian automotive magazines "Autostart" and later "AutoBild," he had the opportunity to engage more closely with Saab vehicles. In 2008, he tested the latest Saab cars of that time, such as the Saab 9-3 TTiD Aero and Saab 9-3 Turbo X. In 2010, as the sole blogger from the region, he participated in the Saab 9-5ng presentation in Trollhättan, Sweden. Alongside journalists from around the world, he got a firsthand experience of the pinnacle of technological offerings from Saab at that time. Currently, Goran owns two Saabs: a 2008 Saab 9-3 Vector Sportcombi with a manual transmission, and a Saab 9-3 Aero Griffin Sport Sedan from the last generation, which rolled off the production line in Trollhättan in December 2011.

  • I myself was lucky enough to buy a SAAB 9000 CDE Turbo last year, Mod.1993 with then 22’000 guaranteed kilometers, from an olderly Swiss widow. It has now done 25’000 kilometers and is in new car delivery condition with all goodies one can imaginesuch as the wonderfull leather seats, the original Saab 5- spoke aloys and, and, and……… Everything works impeccably. It comes in Scarabeo green metallic with black leather seats .
When I bought it, it received new Bridgestone performance tires, it was fully serviced and all liquids and oils exchanged. It is a real collectors item.
I am ready for exchange with other enthusiasts, regards

    • Nico, I recently bought what sounds like a carbon copy of your car here in the states-93 CDE Scarabe Green over black leather. It’s gone a bit further-220 km on the odometer. The CDE didn’t get the same love here in the states that I believe it did in Europe, so there are few left here. Always enjoy hearing of them still on the road.
