Last week, Jalopnik blog editors asked readers what features should be standard on all cars. In the commentaries below this post there are many answers and suggestions from the readers.
Some of them had expected that each car should have heated rearview mirrors and a heated-cooled seats, some need dimmed windows, while some will not have a car that does not have a turbocharger…
Mostly, one comment sublimated all their needs – It turns out they all probably want a Saab.
Here’s the comment:
Actually, seems that what everyone needed was a Saab. The Saab 9-5 went on sale in 1998 and included ventilated memory seats, auto-dimming exterior mirrors (with passenger tilt-down in reverse), side reversing lights (similar to the Pontiac), brake bulb warning lights, and of course the option of a hatch (wagon). Plus a nifty cooled glove box, rear heated seats, cornering lights and you could have all this with a manual transmission to boot. But you people bought Hondas and BMWs and whatnot because, you know, reliability.
we fully agree with this comment
In no universe is a BMW more reliable or cheaper to maintain than a SAAB.
Norge må kjøpe Saab og jobbe med Svenskene
I wish that had been the case when I was trying to get dealers to take them🥴
